With more than 30 nationalities at CISM, classrooms have a diverse and vibrant environment, which require multiple levels of learning support. Through experienced staff we provide special support to children who speak two or more languages.
This department is specially created to provide support to students both within the classroom and in separate specialist classes, as necessary. Expert teachers nurture students who have a specific learning disability or difficulty, or who require specialist assistance. Parents are fully involved in the allocation and timing of these lessons.
Specialist support is offered to students through our English as an Additional Language (EAL) department. All lessons are structured, progressive and multi-sensory, and are taught by specialist teachers in an individual, paired or group basis determined by the needs of the students. who create and deliver individualized educational programs through a creative approach.
Full assessment is done by the ALN or EAL coordinator for each student enrolled in these programs. Students are observed, assessed and staff is consulted regarding any concerns over the student’s learning. All concerns are transparently conveyed to parents in a timely manner. If further investigation is needed into a student’s possible learning need, we refer them to an appropriate external body.
Upon completion of the IB program, our students move on to universities and colleges around the world. Over the last few years we have supported students moving on to further study in the following universities / colleges.
